London-listed dry bulk owner Taylor Maritime is set to return at least $45m to shareholders after agreeing two more vessel-related disposals. The Ed Buttery-led company said it had sold one vessel that had been subject to a purchase option, generating net proceeds of $11.4m. Taylor Maritime has also agreed terms for the sale of its 50% stake in a joint venture owning one vessel, bringing in expected net proceeds of $16.6m. Both transactions are expected to close by the end of June. Subject to completion, Taylor Maritime said it plans to carry out a third capital return in July through a partial compulsory redemption of ordinary shares. The latest payout would lift total capital returned to shareholders since the start of the managed realisation process to $218.4m. “These further sales underline our commitment to delivering an efficient and orderly asset realisation, preserving value for shareholders through timely deal execution and maximising returns of capital to shareholders,” said Buttery, chief executive officer of Taylor Maritime. Since launching its disposal programme in 2023, Taylor Maritime has raised close to $900m from what has now reached 53 vessel sales. The company has been one of the most active sellers in the geared bulk segment, steadily reducing its exposure in a firm secondhand market. Taylor Maritime’s owned fleet currently stands at six bulkers made up of four handysize vessels and two supra/ultramax units. The company also has one vessel under a joint venture and one chartered-in vessel. Adis Ajdin Adis is an experienced news reporter with a background in finance, media and education.
