Ocean Installer Marine construction contractor Ocean Installer, a Moreld subsidiary, has been awarded a contract by French major TotalEnergies for decommissioning work on three North Sea fields. The three fields in question, Byggve, Skirne, and Atla, are single satellite tiebacks to the Heimdal hub. The project scope includes engineering, extensive dredging operations, recovery of around 1,000 tonnes of subsea structures and pipelines, and transportation to shore for disposal. Most of the recovered equipment will be recycled or reused. The offshore campaign is scheduled for execution in 2027. No precise financial details were revealed. Moreld defined the deal as sizeable, which is in the NOK 100m to NOK 500m ($10.1m to $50.7m) range. “[This award] demonstrates Ocean Installer’s competitiveness and ability to deliver end-of-life projects. Decommissioning is expected to be a growing market going forward for Moreld,” said Geir Austigard, CEO of Moreld.
