Bower Offshore Six months after Saudi Arabia’s Zamil Offshore Services Company acquired Norway’s Remøy Shipping, the company rebranded to Bower Offshore. The new company, built on more than 125 years of experience from the Norwegian maritime industry, chose its name from a very familiar word in the industry – the main anchor of a ship. “The very symbol of what holds when everything storms, and what gives direction to what lies ahead. And now, we raise our anchor for a journey that’s just beginning,” the company said on social media. Across four generations, Remøy Shipping, now Bower Offshore, founded in 1899, has grown from traditional fisheries into an established operator of demanding offshore operations in the North Sea. On its website, Bower Offshore lists six vessels in its fleet – the Bower Eir , Songa Commander , REM Crusader , RS Alegranza , Seacor Ohio , and Seacor Yangze .
