BNSF recognizes shippers for safe hazmat transportation
BNSF Railway recently recognized 103 shippers with the company's annual Product Stewardship Award for the safe transportation of hazardous materials by rail.
Since 1997, the annual award has recognized shippers who transported a minimum of 500 loaded hazmat tank cars in the previous year with zero non-accident releases, BNSF officials said in a press release. The shippers also uphold the ethics of product stewardship under the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care initiative. "Safety isn’t just a priority at BNSF; it’s the foundation in which we build upon for defining success," said BNSF Vice President of Safety Chad Sundem. "Our strongest advantage is to partner with companies who meet our own safety expectations every day. This recognition highlights our shared mission to move essential materials across our network with the highest level of protection and excellence." A full list of 2026 honorees is available here.
