Union Pacific welcomes BuildersFirst Source to Colorado rail park
BuildersFirst Source, one of the nation’s largest suppliers of building products, components and construction services, has opened a new rail-served facility at the Rocky Mountain Rail Park east of Denver to support its expansion across Colorado’s Front Range region, Union Pacific Railroad officials said in a press release.
The rail park, one of Union Pacific’s 45 Focus Sites, is a 620-acre rail-served industrial park designed to support long-term industrial development. On-site rail services are provided by Patriot Rail, which directly connects to UP’s mainline. The first rail cars have been delivered to the site to support BFS’ lumber, truss and wall panel operations. “We are thrilled to welcome BFS to the Rocky Mountain Rail Park,” said Jacqueline Bendon, UP’s senior VP, marketing and sales. “This milestone highlights the role rail plays in connecting our customers to markets and opportunities. We wish both BFS and Rocky Mountain Rail Park much success and look forward to serving them with safe and efficient rail transportation.”
