The conference will conclude with a Networking Dinner at the venue hotel, offering participants an opportunity to continue discussions and strengthen industry connections in an informal setting. As global demand for fresh, high-quality seafood continues to grow, the industry faces a rapidly evolving operating environment. Capacity constraints, geopolitical uncertainty, sustainability requirements, fuel price volatility and changing customer expectations are placing increasing pressure on supply chains to become more resilient, efficient and transparent. The total volume of Norwegian seafood exports last year was about 2.8 million tons with an export value of 180 Billion NOK , according to Norwegian Seafood Council data. Volume of salmon by air January-May 2026 from Norway was approx. 160 000 chargeable tons according to Euroavia International’s estimate. The Air Cargo Seafood Forum has established itself as a dedicated platform connecting the seafood and air cargo sectors, providing a unique opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share best practices and explore practical solutions to common challenges. “The Air Cargo Seafood Forum has become an important meeting place for the seafood and air cargo industries,” said Lars-Gunnar Comén, Managing Director of Euroavia International and organiser of the event. “As a bi-annual event, it offers a unique opportunity for industry professionals to meet, share insights and discuss the latest developments shaping seafood logistics worldwide.” This year’s programme will focus on key issues affecting the global seafood supply chain, including market developments, cold chain management, sustainability, digital transformation, capacity challenges and the future role of technology in logistics operations. According to Comén, the seafood airfreight sector has undergone significant change in recent years, driven by evolving trade patterns, increased use of digital tools and a growing focus on operational resilience. “We have seen growing demand for supply chain transparency, increased use of digital tools, evolving trade patterns and a stronger focus on resilience and operational efficiency,” he said. “The industry continues to adapt to changing market conditions while maintaining the high standards required for transporting fresh seafood.” Digitalisation, automation and artificial intelligence are expected to be among the major topics of discussion during the forum. “These technologies will help improve visibility, planning and decision-making across the supply chain,” Comén said. “They have the potential to increase efficiency, reduce waste and provide better control over the movement of time-sensitive products such as seafood.” Sustainability will also remain high on the agenda as companies across the seafood and air cargo sectors continue to seek practical ways to reduce environmental impact while maintaining product quality and operational performance. “We are seeing progress in areas such as more efficient logistics planning, improved packaging solutions, greater transparency and initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact while maintaining product quality and operational performance.” Oslo was selected as the host city due to Norway’s central role in the global seafood industry. As one of the world’s leading seafood-exporting nations, Norway relies heavily on efficient logistics and air cargo connectivity to serve international markets. “Norway is one of the world’s leading seafood exporters and a global benchmark for quality, innovation and sustainability,” Comén added. “Its seafood reaches markets across the world, making efficient logistics and air cargo connectivity essential to maintaining product freshness and value.” The conference will feature expert presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities designed to encourage collaboration between stakeholders across the seafood and air cargo value chain. Looking ahead, Comén believes strong cooperation across the industry will be essential to addressing future challenges
